Vietnam

The elongated shape of the country means that there is always a good time to go to certain parts of the country to get dry hot weather. February is one of the driest months in the country and is an excellent time to visit the coastal and Southern towns such as Hoi An, Danang and Nha Trang.

To make the most of your time here the combination of city and beach gives you a glimpse into everyday life. From the bustling floating markets of the Mekong Delta to the romantic beaches of Hoi An. Whilst the limestone casts of Halong Bay might be shielded in foggy weather at this time of the year it is still worth a visit to see their splendor. With a reasonably new highway reducing the transfer time from Hanoi, it is one not to be missed.

Venice

For a shorter hop closer to home, it is festival time in Venice. Whilst it may be a popular and more crowded time it is the Venetian festival not to miss out on. We will leave it to you to decide if it is the best or the worst time to visit.

By far the most elegant and undoubtedly the most sophisticated, it really is a two-week celebration of very decadent glamour. Ball gowns, frock coats, and beautifully stunning masks are the order of the day. It’s a stunning spectacle that defies description.

A gondola ride along the canals is a break from the crowded streets, whilst alongside the famous canal streets of Venice itself. the neighbouring islands offer a different feel. The brightly coloured houses of Burano to the world famous glass making in Murano, the islands provide another side of life in the lagoon.

The choice of hotels here can add something special to your experience. The beautiful Venetian hotels that line the Grand Canal offer amazing views and romantic dining options, so arrive in style on your own private water taxi and pull up alongside your hotel and be met by your own hotel concierge.

The summer months of Cape Town make February the perfect time for a visit. Take in the views from Table Mountain, the penguins of Boulders Beach and the poignant Robben Island.

Visit the famous winelands and sample some of the fine vintages the winelands have on offer. For a more authentic and uniquely private experience choose to visit some of the lesser known winelands and vineyards .

Iceland

Whilst Christmas is peak season for Iceland the Aurora Borealis are still visible until around April, so the slightly milder temperatures of February are a great time to visit the country. With much of the ground still covered in snow it is a magical experience.

If you need to warm up, the Blue Lagoon geothermal lake is famous for its revitalising treatments and spa activities.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is gaining popularity as a great winter holiday destination and no wonder. From seeing the famous elephants to relaxing on the beautiful beaches, this is definitely a place to experience now before the secret is out.

You can visit Sri Lanka all year round, but it is always recommended to look at the weather and choose your region carefully. There is always a rainy season in one of the regions. In February the driest weather can be found on the Western Coast. So think about taking in some of the historical sites of the capital, Colombo before moving south along the coast to Galle.
